Ireland Calls Radio Show New York

New Show every Saturday at 6pm Eastern Time on 1460am!

Ireland Calls Radio Show has been part of the American Irish Fabric for more than forty years. It has now claimed the distinction, of the longest running Irish radio show in the USA. This has not happened by accident. The people at Ireland Calls have kept the show fresh and in tune with current trends. The show covers the tri-state area  (NY/NJ/CT) and can be heard every Saturday evening at 6pm on 1460am on your radio dial. The show is also streamed live on the web on wvox.com or click on the Listen Live link in the menu bar.

Currently Ireland Calls is co-hosted by Tommy Smyth and Treasa Goodwin Smyth. Tommy broke the mold of TV coverage, of the St Patrick’s day parade, when he became the first native born Irish person to announce this famed event. He followed this up by being chosen as Grand Marshal of the famed parade in 2008. Tommy has been behind the mic for more than 20 parades. In 2008 he was joined by Treasa and they became the first ever husband and wife team to announce the parade in it's long history. Treasa who had worked as a researcher has now been on the air for her     5th parade. During that time the parade has received 3 Emmy nominations.

Aside from the parade Tommy is well known as ESPN’s Lead International soccer announcer. In 2010 he worked the World Cup final live from South Africa. This was Tommy’s fifth consecutive world cup on ESPN. Tommy also co-hosts Press Pass a soccer show that is heard worldwide and received 5 Telly Awards for his unique Broadcasting talent.

His co-host Treasa Goodwin Smyth is also well known on the sporting scene. For the past sixteen years, she has been the voice of the All Ireland Finals on Fordham University Radio WFUV. Treasa was the first female in the world to be involved in the coverage of these great finals on radio.  Ireland Calls has built up a loyal following in the Tri state area and is gaining traction worldwide now that the show is available on the net each Saturday at 6pm  N.Y. Time on irelandcallsradioshow.com com or click on the listen live button  wvox.com .
